Karabar High School and Monaro Panthers Football Club have developed a
football (soccer) program which will begin in Term 1, 2019 (commencing
with Year 7). The program will then build to run over four years (Years
7-10) and is for talented and driven footballers who want to excel and
achieve their dream of playing professional football through a holistic
model based on the best youth academies in Europe.
The program's key objectives are to develop and nurture the individual
Nutrition for Athletes
Agility, Balance and Coordination
The program is designed to expose players to the requirements of football
at a professional level and to prepare them to reach this level. Players
will be encouraged to use the S2S online system to manage their
development through tracking of attendance and player load (internal and
external activities), testing and analysis of player progression and time
management of activities.
Karabar enters teams in the CHS competitions and students will have
opportunities to showcase their talents to Sydney based Department of
Education sports schools. Through these exposures there may be
opportunities to gain an offer of enrolment in these schools. We are also
exploring how, through the program, players can travel oversees as a team
(self-funded tour) to experience the level and culture of football at
other schools and academies in the UK and Europe.
The coaches in the program will bring with them a wealth of experience
and will be led by Head Coach, Adam Firych, who has over 14 years'
experience in Football Managing and Coaching. Adam is also a fully
qualified FAI (Republic of Ireland) UEFA and FFA (Australia) 'A' Licence
Coach and Physical Education and Sports Teacher with a Masters in Health
and Physical Education.
Students will continue to undertake a full program of study consistent
with the NSW Educational Standards Authority (NESA) and will qualify for
the NSW HSC.
