Uniform
Students should be in uniform while at school at all times.
The school community undertook a lengthy consultation process during 2006 and has decided that Karabar High School should be a full uniform school. The school is committed to supporting this policy by ensuring that students are dressed in correct school and sports uniform as required.
It should be noted that the according to NSW Department of Education and Training policy ( DET Core Rules ) students are expected to "Maintain a neat appearance, including adhering to the requirements of the school's uniform or dress code policy."

We are committed to ensuring students are not disadvantaged by these rules. Students who have genuine reasons for being out of uniform such as religious grounds, financial hardship or family emergencies will be able to apply for exemption from the uniform rules or for assistance.
If a student is unable to be in correct school uniform, due to unforseen circumstances, they are required to follow school policy and provide a note from home, explaining why they are not in uniform and when this situation will be rectified.
Students, who are not in uniform, need to report to one of the deputy principals with their note of explanation and obtain a uniform pass.
It is apparent, however, that those students who do attend school out of uniform often do have access to the correct clothing and simply make a choice not to wear the uniform to school. As a result students who attend school out of uniform must seek permission to be out of uniform with a signed note from their parents or they will be placed on detention or asked to return home to change into correct uniform after parental contact is made.
