Sports Selection Procedures
YEAR 9, 10 & 11 Term 3 2010
The sport that students choose for Term 3 will commence in Week 1 Thursday 22nd July and continue until Week 10 Thursday 23rd September. This is a total of 10 weeks. The procedures for Sport selection are as follows: Students were issued with notes in Week 8 of this term. Notes are also available from the PE staffroom for students who were absent on the day that they were issued. The front office will accept payments for all sports until Wednesday 30th June (Week 11). No payment will be accepted after this day, although parents can contact the school if there is difficulty meeting this deadline.
Students who pay at the front office must have their sport choice note with them, filled in and signed by their parent/carer. The office will stamp and keep the note and issue a receipt. There will be a box in the PE staffroom for students to return notes if they are doing a sport that does not require payment.
On Thursday 1st July, the Sport Organisers will finalise the sport groups, and confirm selections with all students. Students who have made payments at the office or already handed in notes will be able to confirm their selection. Students who have not handed in sport notes will be allocated to a sport group by the Sport Organisers.
It is important that you and your child are aware of the selection procedures for Sport so that no-one misses out on participating in their sport of choice. Some sports are very popular, so the spaces in these sports will be allocated to the first students who return their notes and money. The choice that students make will stand for all of Term 3 - students should choose carefully because NO CHANGES will be made. Students who wish to represent the school in Soccer (Boys & Girls) or Rugby League must select these sports in Term 3.
Parents and students must be aware that the Karabar HS PE/Sport uniform, hats and appropriate footwear should be worn at all sports. If students are unable to participate in sport for any reason, they must provide a note signed by their parent/guardian or a medical certificate.
