CHS Hockey Carnival
On the 8th of June Karabar High School organised and hosted a very successful hockey carnival held at the Lyneham Hockey Centre. Teams from Bowral, Bega Moss Vale, Queanbeyan and Karabar attended the carnival in both Open Male and Open Female categories.
Our students extended themselves and although some of them, especially the boys had little experience on the hockey pitch they put it to the other teams and it was stated by the umpire that they "improved each time they took to the field."
The boys overall results put them outright fourth and girls equal fourth.
As the organiser of the event I would like to thank the Hockey Centre for the use of their facilities, the teams for travelling to be part of the day and the students from all the schools who participated with such good sportsmanship to make the day such a success.
We hope this formula will continue in future years.
Outstanding students for the girls team included- Felisha Frost in the back, Sarah Arnott on the wing, Janet Cantwell in goals, Amy Arnott in the mid field, Melany Budakoski and Samantha De Smet on the wing and inner, Maddie Dove in the midfield, Amber Ebsworth as centre forward, Sheridan Hall in both defence and attack Courtney Pemberton in the goals, Melissa Stuart in defence, Melissa Weatherby also in defence, Lucy Welch on the wing, Katelyn Whiley in both defence and mid field and Taylor Hart again in forward positions.
