Digital Education Revolution

The Commonwealth Government's Digital Education Revolution includes an element called the National Secondary Schools Computer Fund. The Commonwealth and NSW Governments have agreed to work together to provide a wirelessly enabled specialist educational laptop to every NSW public school student in years 9 to 12 by 2012.

The Office of Schools has taken the lead on this program to ensure that the focus remains firmly on transforming teaching and learning. In cooperation with the Information Technology Directorate this $442million project will see over 200,000 laptops distributed across 500+ school sites.

Features of the Laptop

The Lenovo IdeaPad S10e has been selected as the laptop personal computer to be provided to senior secondary students and teachers in NSW government secondary schools. Lenovo created the IdeaPad S10e specifically for the education sector.

It will support a full range of software applications and features high level computing power, storage and memory. The IdeaPad S10e is teenage-friendly, being robust, compact and lightweight. It will easily fit into a school bag.
